HADR is currently hiring for a full-time Maintenance/Grounds Laborer.
The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma/GED, and pass a drug screen. This position operates in an indoor and outdoor setting where exposure to weather elements, dirt, dust, and unpleasant smells are possible.
Duties include:
Cleaning common areas of buildings, Keeping grounds free of litter, Keep entrances and parking areas clear of weeds and leaves, Apartment turns, Maintenance repairs as assigned, Building/Unit inspections, Complete all assignments in a timely and cost-effective manner and within the expectations and standards of the Housing Authority, Maintain tool and parts inventory and assure that all equipment is appropriately maintained, Preventative building/property maintenance, Completion of maintenance requirements in the areas of plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC and electrical repair, Assure that all agency equipment and machinery is properly maintained according to safety procedures and manufacturers recommendations, Timely, friendly, and accurate follow-through on work orders, and Compliance with HUD regulations
Essential Qualifications:
Experience in building and grounds operation, Ability to initiate and complete work orders, Ability to lift up to 50lbs, Maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, and bend for extended periods, Strong oral and written communication, Team player with commitment to agency values, Ability to relate in an effective manner with co-workers, residents and all others, Maintain confidentiality of and information encountered, Must pass background and drug screen.
